Hey!

Just thought I'd throw this little mail together and keep you updated with what I'm been up to! Since I last talked to you my second EP has been officially released. "See Monkey, Do Monkey" got a little touch up before it was released, out now via MINIMALMINUTS RECORDS. It's currently available on all good records stores (Beatport, Juno, DJDownload etc. etc.) On remix duties is label boss SYLVAIN STURN, who adds a nice minimal-tech touch to the tribal tech-house groover.

I've also been working on several remixes, some which I've been asked to keep quiet until release dates are announced, but one I can talk about is a new remix I did for MARK LAM. Mark is a good friend of mine, and asked me to add my own flavours to one of his electro tracks, "Lift Off" as part of his Mystic EP. The remix is a much darker, techy affair than the original, with elements of deep house and melodic techno driving the track. Also on remix duties is Oscar TG, Matt Devine, and Secret Groovers. The EP is due out in early 2011 on RED ROBOT RECORDS.

Lastly, the POD nightclub has gone under a bit of a change on Saturday nights. The former Saturday night party PENTAGON has had a face lift and is now called PODium. Back to basics with three solid rooms of great music. DAVID DE VALERA has now taken over the CRAWDADDY room, along with myself and other residents on rotation, bringing you the best of house and techno every Saturday with some incredible international talent. 2000 and ONE will be joining us in December!

Also in the POD room NIC JAMES takes over with flavours ranging from commercial hip-hop to bass fueled garage, in the middle room SONGS OF PRAISE combine great classics with a karaoke experience.

I've also put together a mix, showcasing what you'll expect to hear on Saturday night in the CRAWDADDY room, with flavours of deep, driving house to bouncy tech-house, including several Irish releases. Had a lot of fun with this one! Of course, feedback is always welcome!

Earlier this year MELONSOUND brought you the debut single "Feel Like Me" by M-2K. This single was a warm and deep vocal house track set out to take the dance floors by storm.

Now the "Feel Like Me" track has been under treatment of Astair Electro and Dopefish and they have come up with their own interpretation of the vocal tune. Astair Electro has produced a killer house version staying real and true to the original mix. Dopefish takes it further with no less than two remixes, one being a dope dutch house and fidget inspired remix and the other having more of a lounge feel to it.

This release has already had support by the crew at Electro News, Ibiza Global Radio, and when killer vocalist Sophia from A Girl & A Gun first heard these remixes, she exclaimed: “Love the tracks! The vocals are delicious!”

MELONSOUND brings you their second release featuring the debut single from M-2K. The original mix is a deep house track with soothing vocals bringing a loungy and laidback feeling but still urging you to nod your head. The single also includes a trance inspired instrumental mix which sets the mood for a more uplifting experience.

M-2K artist biography

M-2K originates from England, but has been living in Randers, DK for many years now. Started out as part of Danish band E.T.A.; DJing at various venues both local and national.

Whilst organising DJing events, such as gigs on top of the local multi-storey car-park (P-huset), M-2K came in contact with a crew of likeminded. M-2K was drawn to these pure-breed drum&bass headz with their desire for underground vibes and enjoyment of the genre.

In 2003, after the crew split and moved on to newer things, M-2K turned his energy to starting up an event that involved live bands and resident DJs. The Sunburn Club was born with warmth and friendliness as central themes, though maintaining an underground feel. The event has become a regular feature at Café von Hatten, and is still going strong to this day.

In 2009 M-2K got the itch to return to his music-making ways that started his journey way back with E.T.A., though this time on his own. With fresh ideas from his many years of DJing and, M-2K wanted to share his energy with the dance-floor audience. The music would mirror the ideals of The Sunburn Club, whilst looking forward to newer vibes. In 2010 this dream was realised when he signed up to MELONSOUND, and now the future is looking brighter.

So finally the day is here, a historic moment for Meanbucket with our first ever release out now and available to buy. Grab it now at your favorite digital download stores.

Meanbucket’s first release comes from from Meanbucket’s Dj Tuco, having grown up on a diet of house music in the 90′s it makes perfect sense that the first solo release from this experienced DJ would be a cut up Italo Disco House track. Having been on a lot of big name DJ’s playlists for a while and getting regular spins from London to San Francisco the guys saw it fit to release as the debut for the label. To keep things fresh they enlisted a team of remixers from across the globe, from Sydney Australia comes 1ino1eum who flipped the vocal sample, chopping and funking the track up into a dancefloor destroyer that is impossible to pigeon hole. Sweden’s Matt Divine is a name to look out for, he comes with that unmistakable Scandinavian production quality with a squelchy bassline driven remix adding a modern electro/fidget twist to the original. Last but not least is a Baile Funk legend, Rio De Janeiro ‘s DJ Edgar. Continuously smashing the boundaries of Carioca Funk, Edgar does it again! Baile Funk fans new and old are going to love it, further proof that this genre still has a lot to offer!
