HOW TO BEGIN MUSIC PRODUCTION!?

Hello Mates!

This is our first post, and we introduce ourselves now eheh from Portugal we're such a band of two guys who like djing and to party a lot!! Called AIRBAG.

In our first post, we're going to give some tips for the people that started to produce their first original tracks or remixes!

First of all, make sure you have a good computer, with a good virtual memory, like a Mac or a Windows at least with 1 Gb of memory. Then you got to have a program like Ableton Live (v.8), you can donwload a trial at the site of Ableton Instruments. The next step is get vst's. Vst's are the programs you got to have to make your basslines of your tracks and your leads. You also can operate your vst with a keyboard switch to your produce program! We don't know too much of this type of things, but with tips of everyone we all can reach up our produce skills! eheheh

Some djs/productors have some tutorials at internet, and some videos in youtube.

JON HOPKINS - VESSEL

A great electronica song for 2009 - Vessel by composer and pianist Jon Hopkins from his album Insides which was released on the 30th of November 2008. A favorite of Brian Eno, Hopkins never fails to impress. His strong melodies and ghostly synths similar to those of Ulrich Schnauss create a dream like feeling throughout his songs until he hits us with the nicely unexpected pounding synths and growling bass lines which change the songs from their instrumental, classical state to a more heavy electronica one.

Jon Hopkins is to play Sonar and Glastonbury this summer so keep an eye out, Insides is yet to be one of the best electronica albums of 2009!

PLASTICMAN (PLASTICIAN) - THE RUSH

One of our favorites recently has to be Thornton Heath based producer Plasticman aka Plastician with his track 'The Rush' from the album 'Gotcha/ Rush'.

The album was released on ARMY in 2007. It's a nice change from some of the usual tracks you would hear from Plasticman.
The album includes two remixed Plasticman tracks. The first of these being 'Gotcha' remixed by Dr Venom and the second 'The Rush' remixed by 2nd II None. Excellent album!!
